Blackjack isn't purely luck — the right strategy can bring the house edge down to under 0.5%
If your hand totals 17 or more, stop drawing cards (Stand). The risk of busting is too high at this value, and the dealer may still bust on their own.
When your hand totals 10 or 11 and the dealer's card is 2 through 9, that's the ideal time to Double Down. The odds of drawing a 10-value card are high with 6–8 decks in play.
A pair of 10s (or any two cards worth 10) adds up to 20 — a hand that's nearly impossible to lose with. Splitting them is one of the most common mistakes new players make.
Always split a pair of Aces — it gives you two chances at Blackjack. A pair of 8s (worth 16) is the worst hand in blackjack; split them to put yourself in a better position.
When the dealer shows an Ace, you'll be offered Insurance. Statistically, this is a high house-edge bet (around 7.4%) — avoid it unless you're counting cards.
